Ellis Wright was found lying by the side of Highway 400, only a few feet from on-coming traffic, on the night of September 18. When Roswell police approached him, they found him to be uninjured and unbelievably drunk.

Unable to stand or even sit upright, Wright, 51, of Tampa, FL, was unable to give officers a clear answer as to where he lived. When pressed for a definite answer, Wright responded with “F*** you, you little ******! It’s your job to protect and serve, so take me home!”

Officers were not impressed and subsequently arrested Wright for public intoxication. On the way to Roswell Jail, the ever-courteous Wright decided to make himself comfortable by urinating in the patrol car, saying “you clean it.” He was turned over to the jail without incident and his new inmate friends cleaned up his mess.

A Class Act
On the night of September 17, officers were called to the Village Tavern in Alpharetta to deal with an intoxicated man. The manager proceeded to fill officers in on the story.

Vivek Shah, 28, of Atlanta, was left at the bar by a friend and began harassing other guests. Later, the manager found Shah vomiting and then passed out in the restroom. Shah was picked up and taken outside, in hopes that someone would be picking him up, but Shah immediately set upon abusing incoming guests. So the police were called.

When police questioned Shah, they asked for identification. He initially said “no.” When asked again, Shah took his license out of his wallet, looked at the officer and placed the ID back in the wallet. Third time was the charm and he complied.

Everything police asked of him had to be repeated several times before Shah complied. While waiting for a taxi, the manager came out and informed Shah that he was no longer allowed in the bar. Shah began using profanity, both toward the manager and the police, saying, among other things, “I did not use any f****** profanity.”

While arguing with the police, Shah then reentered the bar he had just been banned from where he was promptly arrested for disorderly conduct and given a criminal trespass warning.
